BRAHMAN Motor Distributors is a new Australian bus business dedicated to supplying robust and reliable vehicles purposefully built to meet the needs of Australian bus operators.

With these operators in mind, BRAHMAN secured the exclusive right to market and distribute a highly regarded military-grade chassis/axle combination produced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation, (DMC), one of the giant 3 automakers in China. Subsequently, a modern, robust and cost-effective body was designed to suit the strengths of the chassis and quality driveline componentry sourced from other major Auto-Manufacturers including Cummins and Allison.

The prototype unit of the BRAHMAN Traveller 2WD/4WD - a Cummins EuroV 4WD version - was completed and tested in April 2011 and the production of a further three prototypes initiated soon thereafter. The first ‘full-production’ units of the Traveller4WD will arrive into Australia in Q3 of 2012.

BRAHMAN Motor Distributors has engaged Representatives within Australia and is in various stages of negotiations with prospective Importers in PNG, Africa, Malaysia, Latin America and the USA. (The BRAHMAN is very intent on offering Distributorship to companies owned and operating within their own markets).

Although there are different requirements and configurations required for different compliance regimes, the base vehicle will in essence meet or exceed the requirements of the Australian Design Rules (ADR). BRAHMAN is currently exploring the option of offering the supply of the vehicle in the KDX format (Knocked-down export) alongside its current BUX format (Built-up Export).

Both the metro-savvy Traveller 2WD and the unique Traveller AWD crossover vehicle have attracted significant interest during development from major rental companies, coach lines and tour operators throughout Australia. Given the enthusiastic response from all and sundry, the Traveller2WD/4WD is expected to be heartily embraced by those markets when released.
